Mila Burcikova is a researcher and designer dressmaker working under her slow fashion label MISENSE by Mila B. Mila’s research and design work revolves around her passion for socially responsible craft and design practices. She is particularly interested in the ways well designed and well made objects help create more sustainable and more satisfying lifestyles for both the designer/maker as well as the consumer. MISENSE by Mila B is a fully certified member of the Ethical Fashion Forum and the label has also recently featured in Betsy Greer’s Craftivism: The Art of Craft and Activism. For 2017 Mila Burcikova has been invited as the guest editor of ‘Fashion and Utopia’, a special issue of The Journal of Utopian Studies published by Pennsylvania University Press.
